The Tay Foundation is a partner, along with a large number of other organisations, in an ambitious project coordinated by RAFTS which aims to eradicate breeding mink from a large area of north east and northern Scotland, including northern Perthshire.

Mink are a non-native predator which is recognised as having a serious impact on many native species, notably the water vole. They can also have an impact on native fish populations.
