The Tay Foundation is supporting a project at Stronuich
Dam on the River Lyon to establish the number of salmon
smolts which successfully manage to pass the dam. There
have been concerns whether many smolts might successfully
emigrate from the upper part of the River Lyon. A smolt
trap was constructed on a trial basis in 2006 and is
scheduled for full operation in spring 2007.
